Default Please Help Why A Slower Et.

MY HOME PAGE Hi, I ran my car this weekend to make a long story short the last time i ran my car it went 12.65@108 on a 75 degree day sence that day i added alot of fiberglass part lost 280 lbs and bought Pro Form Main Body 750 cfms was a700 cfm, Here my personal webpage it will tell you everything thats in the motor and trans ECT.Iam looking for info why it only ran a 12.98@105 mybe the main body or the weather it was 98 degrees when i ran it the 60ft drop from a 1.82 to a 1.97, Any Advice would be great, Thanks Ronnie

You don't mention two things in your description:

1. Engine size... If I were to assume that your 69 block is a 302, I would say that despite your upgrades... you are over carbing. The 700 should be the max that you run on that thing. If you can borrow a 650 or 600cfm from someone, I'd suggest even trying that for a spin to see what you get. You might be surprised.

2. Exhaust size... You mention your headers' size, but not your exhaust... I personally like the bottom end power you get with a 2 1/4" dual setup, of course with an "H" pipe. But 2 1/2" should definetly be your max.

Also noticed that you are running a carb spacer... Not sure what RPMs you are turning in that engine, but that will move up your intake range by 1000 RPM. So if you are not stalling at 2500... and are not cranking 7500 RPMs out of your engine, you are losing a bit there. The Performer RPMs range is 1500-6500 out of the box, if you aren't going out of that range, I'd leave out the spacer.

Thanks for the info its a 302 .40 over with 2 1/2 pipes no h pipe i hoping it was to much carb the plug to look rich, Thanks Car9fan
