Re: Please Help Why A Slower Et.
You don't mention two things in your description:
1. Engine size... If I were to assume that your 69 block is a 302, I would say that despite your upgrades... you are over carbing. The 700 should be the max that you run on that thing. If you can borrow a 650 or 600cfm from someone, I'd suggest even trying that for a spin to see what you get. You might be surprised. 2. Exhaust size... You mention your headers' size, but not your exhaust... I personally like the bottom end power you get with a 2 1/4" dual setup, of course with an "H" pipe. But 2 1/2" should definetly be your max. |

Re: Please Help Why A Slower Et.
Also noticed that you are running a carb spacer... Not sure what RPMs you are turning in that engine, but that will move up your intake range by 1000 RPM. So if you are not stalling at 2500... and are not cranking 7500 RPMs out of your engine, you are losing a bit there. The Performer RPMs range is 1500-6500 out of the box, if you aren't going out of that range, I'd leave out the spacer.
