When you say the nut is stripped. Does it just turn?? Cut it off. Dremal, etc

is it just a nut or a bolt,i think its just a stud welded to the torque converter. if so use what most people call a nut buster,or cutter. its a tool that slips over the nut
like a wrench and as you turn the opposite end of it with wrench or socket, it drives
a blade into the nut. keep turning it till cuts all the way through the nut dont go too far and damage the threads.that is if you mean that the hex head of the nut is rounded

this was a life saver a few times for me, after blowing or seizing a motor and not being able to turn the crank at all when the motor was froze id cut the last remaining nut with the cutter and free the converter i had used a torch and heated the nut red hot and removed the last nut before i started splittin um...lol

thanks for the info ill have to look into the nut buster to add to my arsenal of tools. i was able to get the cursed thing off with vice grips a rubber mallet and the craftsman nut bolt out tool.

I had to lock a pair of Vice-Grips on mine becuase they were rounded by the previous owner.
