Default plug wires

i am currently running msd 6a with blaster 2 coil and pertronix electronic ignition and 7mm wires. is there a big differance between 7 mm and 8.8? a noticeable power differance? also was wondering what the best spark plug would be. iv heard autolite is the best but just want to see if anyone else has found a good plug. also what do you think i should gap my plugs to? have 10.5 or 11.0 compresstion running 87 gas.
