I plan to do the same thing to my '65 (someday). For what it's worth, I found this...

Auburn makes a limited slip unit for the 8 inch ford for $462.40 + freight. Powertrax also makes the Lock Right that fits inside of your existing standard open case for $261.47 + freight

I haven't checked into any yet, that post may be old.

I bought an Auburn Pro a year or so ago for my 8". It has worked well for that time with no problems and occasional hard use. I also considered the Power-Trax, but was advised against it by the local rear end shop that I occasionally do business with. I paid $389 + shipping from a place on the internet. You will need new bearings pressed on to the carrier (another $35 from a local shop) . The only down side to the Auburn Pro is that they are not rebuildable. Aubrn does give a one year guarantee and a five year exchage for about $150 should the unit fail.

Mine's been great and I do recommend it. Not much else really available for the 8" besides the Ford TractionLck and that Power-Trax. As a side note, I was able to install the unit myself with good result. The only tricky part is to be sure to get the preload and the lash set correctly.
