power question
Hi All,
I have a 66 stang with a rebuild 289 which has been bored .030 over with a Comp Cam(#31-226-3), 4 bbl carb and now an electric ignition system. The transmission is a 4 speed toploader, wide ratio from a 69 302/351(2.78 ratio in first) and the rear end is a 3.55. I'm very new with technical issues regarding cars, but when I drive my stang I would have thought I would be able to lay some pretty good rubber. However, when I go to take off, fast or slow, just shake pretty badly or bog down. Does anyone have any idea what I can do or have done wrong? Any idea of where to start? Please help! |

Re: power question
I would bet timing and carb issues. Also check for vacuum leaks.

Re: power question
bmxmon is on the right track here. One other question I would have is how big is that "4bbl" carb? If you have too big a carb on there, you will get a big bog when you open it up quickly.
