Power Steering Pump Bleeding?

I need to replace one of the hoses that go from the power steering pump to the power steering cylinder, and I was wondering if anyone knew if I need to draing the pump thoroughly, but most importantly is there a way, or even a need for me to bleed the pump. I've never done this, but someone suggested that it might need to be done.

Yes, you will need to bleed it when you are finished, but it's easy. Just make sure you do it exactly like this:

When finished, fill the res. with fluid. Jack up the front end of the car, so that neither tire is touching the ground. Start the engine, and check the fluid. Add as necessary. Slowly turn the steering wheel almost all the way to the left. You must stop just short of full left. Check the fluid, add as necessary. Turn the wheel almost all the way to the right, again, checking the fluid. Repeat the back and forth with the steering wheel, but never let the wheel reach it's limit in either direction. gradually go faster until you are 3 seconds from left to right. Check the fluid one last time, add as necessary, shut off the engine, cap the res., and lower the vehicle. Go for a test drive, and check the fluid when you return. If the steering wheel feels jerky, and doesn't improve with driving, raise it again and re-bleed it.

Only thing I would do different is.... I would fill the resovoir after the work was completed. But, before I would start the engine I would pull the coil wire and turn the engine over several times to circulate the fluid. Then refill and start. This helps keeping the pump from running dry when first started and the pump puts all the fluid down in the system.
