Brake booster?

I've been thinking for a while that maybe I should bolt on a brake booster. What do you think guys. Will it take up too much room, or vacuum? How much better will the car stop? Also what type is the best bolt on one that I can find at an autoparts store? I just want to make sure the beast will stop when I even more ump. This is for the 67. Thanks in advance.

The cheapest way out will be to use a stock setup but they sell alot of aftermarket booster kits that fit well too. Check with National Parts Depot they offer two different units. Your correct you will need some vacuum and the engine cam will have alot to do with this. I like my brakes with power and it does make a difference on how much effort is needed but manual and power both work well.

I'm pretty sure you'll need a new MC (power) to go with the booster. I believe they're different piston sizes for the different brake pressure that is required (manual vs. power).

I recomend the Trans Am Racing booster/master setup. One of the best mods I've ever done. Quality piece, easy bolt in.

From what I hear gp, the Trans Am set up is the cat's whiskers in a '65 or '66, but the '67 and later have enough room for stock MC's and boosters. I've often considered the Trans Am set up but just hate to replace my new manual dual cylinder MC with a power MC to make it all work.

Well I do think the MC is starting to go out. Therefore I think it's time to do this swap. Just a matter of finding what type of brake booster I like. Might just do it all this thanksgiving if I can. Thanks guys for your responses. Any ideas which would be the best type of brake booster?
