c4 tips

with all this stuff about swapping a c4 for a 6 speed i start to think i should do it to but then i remember that im prettymuch broke already.. is there anything i can do to beef up my c4. anything i can do to cause less drag and get more power to the wheels. harder shifts. maybe a valve body swap. any tips on setting the bands? where to set the kickdown cable according to throttle? full throttle? 3\4 throttle??? thanks for any tips.

You can pull off the vacum line to the modulator valve (rt rear of tranny) and turn the adjuster screw ( is what vacum hose goes over.) *****Caution**** Only turn by 1/2 turns, turning it in causes a harder shift. Remember how many you did incase of having to go back.

Adjusting the bands is tricky on a broke in transmission. Rarely could I set it to "new" specs. Its one of those trial and error things, dont do it if you have never messed with bands b4.

Leave the kickdown alone unless its out of ajustment.

on the modulator valve would that be a half turn in or half turn out? also i have adjusted the bands before but i set them to what the haynes manual says. Also on the modulator valve what would happen if i set it in too much so theres a real hard shift. would that cause any problems? what is the good and bad for too hard or too soft shift? thanks for the tips.

About the kickdown. Mines way out of adjustment. What should it be set at. Right now, it doesn't even come close to getting the cable tight. I have to rebend the throttle arm.
