ignition problem

Hello,

i have following problem...

i got a 67 mustang with a 351 windsor 2 barrel carb
it has an old point ignitionsystem!

the car started up just fine all the time until a couple days ago...
i figured i knocked the timing off since i hit the distributor accidently.
well.... i also changed the spark plugs (the old one looked like, the car was running to rich on gas... they where a littel bit black)
... i put the new parkplugs in an took one of em to check how they spark.. i put it on the block an rolled the enigne over... well the spark wasn't really how it suppose to be.
it wasn't blue it was more of a yellow white spark.. (the car has a new ignition coil too) however it was a weak spark..

but i was out of gas too, so we dumped a little bit gas in the carb and it fired right up... !!

so... today for some reason the engine stalled again after i started it..
and it has gas!!
i have NO CLUE WHY it doesn't start
the new spark plugs look again a little bit to dark again ....

could it be that the distributor or something is broke and my spark is just too weak which makes my spark plugs broke ?? would it help just to install a elektronic ignition system ?? i was planing that anyway

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR EVERY HELP I CAN GET !!!!!!!!

Go to www.stangnet.com and ask the question. My guess is that you cracked the cap on the dist. (If it was tight to begin with)

Change the fuel filter. It is probably full of trash because of running out of gas.
