Okay a new question regarding my Engine Problem
Changed the PCV. Exhaust much better. The cam I removed measures 1.75 inches on the lobe and is skinny on the sides. My performance cam measures 1.5 inches and is fatter.
I know somebody out there wants to kick me in the butt. So the question is why does my car run better with the original cam and not the performance cam.???? I am trying to learn. |
how do YOU define better?

What kind of gear ratio are you running? Do you have an automatic or manual transmission? Stall converter? Is the car sluggish off the line?
Sometimes if you step up to a higher performance cam (depending on how wild you go) you will need some lower gears or a stall converter if it's a auto. This is because it's possible that the cam has raised your power band and you don't have enough gear to get into it off the line. But, if a sluggish launch isn't the problem, disregard everything I've just said. |
