hail damaged '65
 

Hi everyone...I've been reading these forums for a while..and I just registered...and here I am. I have a 65 coupe, and it's got some serious hail damage...and I just want to know what the best way to fix it is. I really don't want to use any type of body filler, and I'm not sure how much it would cost to have it fixed by Dent Removal people. The whole car is covered, hood, trunklid, roof, all quarter panels. What do you guys think I should do?

Do you have any insurance covering hail damage? If you do, get a damage estimate from your carrier. That's the first thing to do.

After that, you can decide what to do about the body damage, and how to fix it,

The car was damaged in a hail storm in Kentucky several years back, and it was on a used car lot at the time. It has a salvage title now, and we bought it the way it was. I'm just seeing what you guys think I should do. Thanks. :)

From that description, I really don't see any alternative to body filler and complete body/paint restoration. My thought.

I dont think your insurance company would buy your story.

Other than that, just replace all of the panels. Unless you want to keep it 100% original and with NOS parts, matching numbers, etc, panels shouldnt be that expensive. Repairing the hood and rear quarters is the onion in the ointment, though.
