Carb for '65 200cid

I'm probably going to buy an aftermarket carb for my ol' 65 there, and I'm kid of new at this. I was looking at a Model 2300 500 cfm two barrel carburetor. Manual choke. Ford A/T kickdown. 50cc accelerator pump.

Would this be a good carb for me? I'm not looking to set the road on fire, but a little more pep would be nice, and its probably more dependable than a 30 year old unit thats probably never been cleaned.

Too much carb?

500 CFM seems a bit too much to me for a stock 200 CID six banger. I doubt that you'd be happy with throttle response and driveability.

Too much? I know that Holley goes as low as 350cfm 2bbl, would that or maybe a 400 be better? And why would I not be happy with drivability with the 500, because it wouldnt work?

Thanks for replying. All you others...

Try Mustangshop.com

They have a carb flow calculator on there. Maybe that'll help. I think it has like 300 cfm for optimum for the 200 CID running to 6000 RPM (I'm not sure of the upper end of the 200 CID) with 85% volumetric efficiency.
