Ok i have 65 289 mustang and when i turn the car off the oil and alt. light blink on and off any help please

Well all i can say is when i turn off the car the oil and alt light blink and stay on til i take the battery cable off if i leave it on the battery gets dead looks like who had the car before me mess with the alt wiring ok tell me thi on the alt the bat fld and grd on the grd theres a black and red stripe wire on the fld theres a white wire and on the bat theres a yellow wire and a black and yellow stripe wire is all these wires hook up right

That is EXACTLY the way it is supposed to be wired. I am very impressed, actually. Have you checked to see if your ignition switch is bad?

how do you check if the switch is bad and other thing i checked somthing with a test light i took the - battery cable off hook one end to the - post and the other to the dis connect - cable and the test light lights up i don't think thats right any info
