Paint Cure Time

Hopefully, my car will be painted next week. My question is, when I get it back in my garage, what is a safe amount of time I should wait before I start putting all the exterior parts back on, such as the bumpers, all the chrome, emblems, etc. Not sure how long it'll take for the paint to fully cure - 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks? Thanks.

If the car is baked in the spray booth as soon as it is finished being painted, then you can assemble it within an hour of the bake cycle completion. This accelerates the bake process so that the car is dry to the touch but solvents still do escape for the next 90 days. If the car is not baked then about 24 to 48 hours. You just need to be cautious like i'm sure that you will. Let me know if you have other questions.

Depends on what kind of paint you use. Enamel hardens a lot quicker than a base/clear job. Enamels can fully cure in around a month, and base/clears it takes around 3 months.

Within a couple days you can start putting exterior trim pieces on. No matter what paint type, it will still be a little soft, so use extreme caution. But you should be fine.... Good luck! Hope it turns out good!;)

If you will draw tape across your pant leg it will be safe to tape the car in areas that might get bumped during installation of the chrome. Good luck.
