Has anyone here used the red line water wetter? If so did it help? I am trying to help my 67 c code 289 run cooler in 80-100 degree weather. Thanks AJ

I've used Water Wetter and the more expensive 40Below with mixed results. When I was trying to use these products, the real problem was that my radiator was occluded. These mentioned products seemed to help a little but not enough.

After I had my radiator rodded out, it was like night and day. The car now ran at 180-190 F no matter the ambient temp.

I use 5 to 10% coolant and 1 bottle water wetter in the summer and 20% coolant in the winter. It has worked for some of my friends also.

Ive used it in several cars and it seems to help. But it wont work wonders. On cars with clogged up systems it will help but your gonna have to do the ugly sooner or later and get it fixed. A good fan and shroud setup for the right size motor seems to do the most good. Good luck.

I have also used it in my car with good results. Also when you do have the radiator done take a 45 deg. fitting to the shop with you , have the tech install in at the drain plug with a new stop-cock valve. (pointing down) It will make the next coolant change so much easier & cleaner. I also instaled a Gano filter in the upper hose to catch all that extra rust those l 289 seem ta make. I may saveyou from having to have another trip to the radiator shop next year.

I used a product called Tow Kool from CRC Industries. It didn't help hardly at all though....At least it was only 7 bucks...:rolleyes:
