1968 transmission problems

Hey I have a problem with my car. when you put it into gear it lurchs forward or sometimes stalls. I have a 302 with a c-6 trani. I've adjusted the carb many times, checked the timing. I think the rpm's are to high what can I do to resolve this problem.

Thx

If you've tried backing off the idle screws to the point where it stalls, you're probably going to need a high stall torque convertor.

What are your engine rpm's at idle? Is the engine modified? What kind of engine vacuum do you have at idle? Have you checked for vacuum leaks?
