Edelbrock Carb

I have a '67 Coup with what I thought was a 289 but is now a newly rebuilt 302. A friend just sold (practically gave) me an Edelbrock CFM 750 carb that he had used for only a few months. I have ordered the intake for it but someone told me that the CFM 750 is too much carb for my engine. What problems will I have if I install this carb? Thanks, E.

650 with a something like a RPM Airgap, Performer 302, is a great combo.

You can always rejet the 650 if needed.

750 is overkill unless your making big power.

try it out, if it doesnt work well for you sell it on ebay.

A 750 is definitely too much carb, but you might as well throw it on and see how it runs anyways. You can buy a kit out of Summit/Jegs from Edelbrock that has jets, metering rods, springs, etc. to tune it for your engine. I really recommend buying this kit, it's about $40-45.

I have a Eddy 750 cfm carb on my 351W with TFTW heads, Perf RPM intake, and a .496/.520 cam and it's too much. I have it tuned quite a bit more lean than it came out of the box.

Also, Edelbrock carbs are very easy and simple to work on, but suck otherwise.
