Axle spline count

What is the standard spline count for a 1971 Mach I 9inch rear-end w/factory 351 ci ?
I am needing to replace one of mine and would like to know the count before pulling the axle and then having to wait until it arives from ordering. Or should I pull it first anyway just to be sure ?

Standard count is 28 the opt is 31
