Rims and Tire

I'm looking at putting on the Outlaw II rims for my 68 mustang coupe. Does anyone know what size is possible. i was thinking a 16 inch with a low profile tire. My front end sits for now at 28inches from floor to fender. I have brand new suspension so i do believe the front will drop down about another 1/2inch once I start driving the car. Any suggestions on tire and rim size would be much appreciated. After 2 years of building this thing is almost road ready. thanks

16 inch can work, but it is all depending on the back spacing of your wheels.

When you say back spacing, Do you mean the tire depth? I'm using standard upper and lower control arms and standard springs. Thanks for the reply

This is what I was getting at, also known as offset: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/...jsp?techid=101

Basically, unless the wheel was designed for the car, it may fit, but not have the proper offset. This might leave the wheel sticking out from under the car and/or cause some clearance issues with the fender. The other side of the coin, if the offset was too much, could cause the tire to rub on the inner fender well.

I have 16 inch rims on my car that were designed to go on it and they clear, but only barely. I should point out my fenders have not been rolled or anything like that, I have read that by tweaking the fenders a 17 can be made to fit.

I have 17inch mach 1 rims on my 65. Havent actually drove it with them on yet, since i still have to get the brake lines hooked up. The only problem i see is that I need to make some steer stops. I used adapters from i think dallas mustang or mustangsplus. Just moving it around the driveway though i dont see any problems with my fenders. (new springs though, so who knows)
