Well to be honest more details would help out here. But I will say that before I upgraded my alternator, I had the same problem when the car was at an idle. Do you have many accessories running on the stock type alternator?

It is very noticable at idle- it does not go away when I increase the rpms and hold it-but is slightly less noticible. The only things on are the headlights and the inside courtesy lights.- The pulsing is very consistant.
You mentioned an upgraded alternator. Shortly after I bought the car the alternator went bad and I bought a duralast from auto zone- just because they were close by. Is that a poor quality part?

Belts are tight, checked connections everything is tight.
Just installed a new constant voltage regulator for my gauges- they work now. No other work has been done to it recently.

Thanks for any advice

Do you remember if you had the problem before the alternator swap?

I have not had good luck with auto zone electrical items. I use their parts, but will buy the electrical in other areas. Not saying it is your problem, but I would suspect it at this point.

Auto-Zone and Discount Auto Parts have parts that are marginal at best.

If I didn't have a pulsating light problem till after I install THEIR alternator, wellllllllllll, I'd be asking them about the quality of their parts??

You'd be surprised that I personally don't know any licensed auto repair shops that use Auto Zone or Discount Auto Parts, Advanced Auto Parts. They are sub standard and....like me....I need to have a warranty that won't break me.
