Charging the Battery

So, I'm borrowing a 10/2 amp battery charger to recharge my car's battery. And of course, I'm not sure how to use it. Can you guys help me out? i need details! do i switch it to 10 or 2 amps? do i take the battery out? where do i attach the clamps?

Re: Charging the Battery

Hook the clamps to the respected posts. Positive is red and negative is black or "+" and "-". If the battery is real dead use 10 amps for a hour or so. If you want to leave it on overhight use the 2 amp setting.

Be careful of sparks when hooking up the clamps. Batteries put out Hydrogen gas, which is VERY explosive. So no sparks around the top of the battery.

You can charge the battery in the car, or take it out if you so please.
