picked up a 8" rear

I was wondering if the rear I picked up will be alright to put in my stang. Do they blow easy under pressure. I picked it up at carlisle yesterday for $200 complete and it came out of 66. What could I put in it gear wise that I wouldnt have a problem with it. Limited slip or locker? I was thinking 3:55 or 3:73. I also has 5 lug setup. I think it has 3:01 gears in it and single trac. I starting off with a medium built 302 w/AOD s/s built. With 5 lug setup what is the bolt pattern because I have 4 lug setup now and I going to have to get new rims probably 17x7f and 17X8r torque thrust's,

Same rearend I have, so far its been good to me. 5x4.5 bolt pattern. Did you ever swap to 5 lug discs on the front? Something you might want to consider if you havent done so already.

I actually am going to do a power disc brake conversion soon I just need to get v8 spindles that I am trying to find them now. I have non power drums all the way around now. I am probably going to switch the drum set up on the rear to disc too. But I will be that later.

I have an 8 also, wont be a problem unless u put a real sticky tire under it when you launch hard.

The easiest/cheapest front disc swap is the granada spindles. I bought mine for $40 at the junkyard (were comeplete, even had some of the upper/lower control arms on them!). Tie rods are the only thing that is different, plus they are stronger. Well the caliper is different too I believe, but as long as you buy all granada stuff pertaining to the front brakes you'll be fine. If you do a search in the forums you should be able to find some threads pretty easily that explain it a bit more. (check this out too: http://www.geocities.com/2bav8/granada.html) For your rear perhaps you want to consider a versailles rearend, which I believe are only slightly wider than a stock mustang rear, but come with disc brakes and often times a limited slip rear. Like I said I have a regular 8" rear and have only read about the versailles rearend, so you'll need to do some more research on that one if you choose to persue it.

The tires I plan on putting on are 225/45/17f and 245/45/17r BFG g-force t/a kdws or kdw. Which should do fine and not to sticky.
