Shorty Headers
Hi,
My name is Stan and I live in Louisiana. I have a 1965 Mustang I just recently aquired. It has a 289 v8. It currently has the original exhaust manifolds which I would like to replace with a pair of JBA Shorty Headers (haven't purchased yet). My question is: Will the JBA's mount to the existing dual exhaust system without any modifications to the exhaust piping? Should I be able to just bolt them right in and connect them to the existing exhaust? Thanks, Stan:confused: |
Re: Shorty Headers
I would highly doubt it, the headers are probably longer than the stock manifolds. If the rest of the exhaust is nice you could probably just cut it slightly farther back down the system and bring it into an exhaust shop and have them connect the two, but if its a shody system its probably best just to get a new system ran.

Re: Shorty Headers
I would totally agree with BMXMON on this one. I have the JBA's on my 66 and would absolutely have to say they terminate further down and back than the stock manifolds. I did just what he mentioned, I cut the system back a few inches and had the flanges welded back on in the proper place. I love those headers btw.....they work good with the cable clutch too.
