how much $$$ for a mint 68 gt/cs?
my dad has a stock "SHOW CAR" 68 GT/CS (made by shelby) black, totally restored, it has a 289, c-4 & i was wondering how much $$ its worth.
thanks ------------------ 1988 Mustang GT, T-5 No Smog Pump (Shorty Belt), Dumps At The End Of Stock H-Pipe (Sounds Mean), K&N Air Filter (Stock Air Box, Removed air silendcer), 198.9 rwhp @4200 (235 Motor!!), 285 lbs-ft @2900 (336 Motor!!!). |
My favorite comparison of price is to pick up a few issues of Hemmings motor news and compare prices. Then check a few issues (see if add retruns or not, not a perfect system) to see if they are selling at the asking price.

The Mustang price guide shows this car at $10,500 in top restored condition - there is a car this month in Hemmings matching then description of the one in this thread exactly, at an asking price of $11,400

Just another note - These cars were not actually made by Shelby (If they were the market $$ would be a lot higher) Shelby was contracted to do one of the concepts for this project, but it was ultimatly rejected by Ford. The design was done by a company called ACSCO in California, who also produced a lot of the unique styling parts on the car. Around 4,100 cars were built at the Ford San Jose plant in 68, making them a pretty rare peice today.
