Powermaster alternator

I bought a 100A powermaster alternator from summit and put it on my 69 fastback. It came with the non-serpentine pulley like I requested but when I started the car it started chewing up the belt. Is it possible the pulley it came with is still different from what it should be.

David,
The pulley would have to be drastically different to cause this usually this is caused by an alighnment problem. I know on my 69 I use a spacer to get this right.

powermaster units are typically rebuilt and gm 1-wire style. you could have a pulley or alignment problem. www.pa-performance.com has nice kits using new ford units for older cars. 95 and 130 amps fyi.
