Polish residue

Can anyone tell me the best way to remove polish from black plastic trim pieces? I'm talking about the textured kind of pieces that traps the polish and is next to impossible to remove.

Maybe a firm tooth brush along with some air from a compressor.

I had heard that a mixture of an alcohol and distilled water would remove it. Any opinions about this?
