68 Ignition Lock

I just ordered and received a new ignition lock from Mustangs Unlimited. However, it won't fit in my ignition switch. When I looked carefully at the very end (which one side of the small bar is small and other a little bigger) they're reversed from my original one. I have the original lock but not the switch, but the replacement switch worked perfect with my original lock. Could this be a manufacturer's defect or am I missing something? Hard for me to believe the lock was manufactured backwards.

I would double check that you have the correct tumbler. It should fit right in the switch.

Call them.

You'll have to excuse my ignorance. Is the tumbler the lock itself? If so, the package says it's for 67-69. I took it to Autozone yesterday and they said it's a manufacturer's defect and that the end is reversed.

No problem. The tumbler is the mechanical part of the lock itself. The part that the key goes in.

Glad to hear you have it worked out.
