Total advance for mild 289?

The guy whose car I'm working on can't tell me anything about the cam other than it's a 284 advertised int. duration hyd. cam. What does the mild 289 like for total advance. I've got it at about 35 degrees adv. now. Just wondering what you Ford guys run. When he gets it to the track we can dial it in from there.

I too run approx. 38 degrees. I get a slight ping sometimes as it peaks out on 93 Amoco. When I pull it back, I lose power that I can feel !!!
