351C Performance Help

I have a 351C with a Comp Cams 280H Magnum cam. A Holley 750 vacum secondaries carb, torker manifold, headers, and factory 4v heads. I'm running 11 degrees inital and 41 degrees total advance. Not sure of the compression, but approximatly 9.5 to 10:1.
I've only run a best of 14.4 at 96.4 mph. That's with a 4spd. top-loader, traction bars, a 4.11 posi, and fairly wide 265/50's on the rears. Shouldn't this be a reciepe for 13's? Any help would be much appreicated.

What is the weight of the car? Where are you shifting at? Any launch problems? I agree, the motor sounds capable of better times. This motor probably makes good power up high and lousey power down low?

are you using stock street tires at 24lbs? are you spinning excessively? use hoosier quick times at 10 lbs and come out of the hole at 4000 rpm and stand on it - your recipe should get you in the 12's if everything works the way it should

check out the Articles on www.mustangsandmore.com for some good 351C articles. also do a search for pantera's - there's a site called something like The Pantera Place that has some VERY good 351C articles.
