Question on compatability
I have a 70 convertable with a 302. I am wondering if a Mustang II front end would be compatable and what the benefits might be in performance?
Also how difficult the transistion would be and has anyone done it? |
Are you asking if you can graft a Mustang II front nose onto a '70 Mustang?
If so, I really doubt it. The II is narrower and doesn't have anyting in common with the 1970 except being a Mustang. |
Grafting the suspension of a Mustang II into a classic is sometimes done by the heavy duty hot rodders who want to get rid of the shock towers to make room for a big block motor. You can also get improved handling. The room in the engine bay is not as much of a problem with the 70 as it was with the earlier cars. Ford figured out a way to fit the big motors in, but there was a serious lack of working room under the hood.
I know "kits" are available for the earlier Mustangs; do not know about availability for the 70's. |
