question on matching #s
I own a 67 mustang convertible with a 390-4v. I am trying to determine if this engine is a matching # engine . The info on the block states :
C8AE 9425-f 8A25 This is telling me its a 1968 blockbuilt on jan 25th, 1968. I am told that even though it was built in 8/67 it still may be original. I have the marti report. How can I tell if original or not. My vin # is 7T03S297126. I bought this car as advertised, matching #s. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks carp |

Re: question on matching #s
Hi Carp, Welcome!
The way I understand it, matching numbers is more of a chebby guy thing. Chevy stamped the same number on the frame and engine. Ford didn't do that, just date codes on the engine. So if your date code is close, that may be as close as "matching number" you can get. Hope it helps, Jon |
