Question Rack and Pinion Steering

I want to install power R&P steering on my 68. But, I don't really want to drop $1500 on the Total Control rack. What are the specs needed for the classic Mustang, i.e. travel and unit size. Obvisiously, only rear steer units should be considered. ?? Does anyone know other units that will fit.
Jim
