A little advice on the sandblasting. 1 - ensure the individual doing the sandblasting has lots of experience and knows what they're doing. 2 - ensure the cowl vent is covered. And 3 - if sandblasing the interior (which I don't recommend), ensure the cavities along the roof are covered.
The reason I mention this is before I acquired my 68 stang, it was sandblasted and the individual didn't know what he was doing. As a result, he sandblasted the rear quarter panels too long and slightly distorted the metal. Not that noticeable, but at the right angle you can see ripple effects in the sheet metal. Also, the cowl vent wasn't covered nor under the roof and it took me an entire day to vacuum out those areas (must've removed about 3 gallons of sand). Fortunately, with the heater and vents removed, my hands were small enough to get in there and vacuum it out. But what a mess. |

thanks, i hadn't even thought of the cowl or interior collecting sand. actually the guy is switching to using baking soda, so no heat is produced. he seems to know what he is doing.
