Rear brake blocks before front break
Is there some mechanisme that measures the brake pressure between the front and the rear brake. My rear brake blocks before the front brake. Does something measure how much pressure is applied to the rear suspension so that the brake pressure can be adjusted to that. I think my rear suspension is weakening which causes the rear lower. I tried to pump it up by pumping up the dampers (air dampers), but it does not seem to help.

its called a proportioning valve. you can get an adjustable for 50 inan after market book. have you added discs or modified??

i have a '72 Grande and as far as I know disk brakes are standard, I haven't modified anything. Can you explane why I should use an adjustable, shouldn't the original have to work properly?

First u need to find out of the disk came stock.
If they didn't, then u need to buy a new master cylinder, and proportioning valve. If they were stock, then my guess u either have air in the front, or u need a new master cylinder. Proportioning valves really never go out, all they do is limit the amount of fluid to certain parts. But make sure u do have one installed. |
