Default Replace V6 with V8

I have a 78 stang II and I want to put a 302 in it but after putting engine in the oil pan hits the cross member and steering assembly. Did Ford use a special oil pan??? I am stumped HELP!!!

I did the same thing, ended up denting and re welding the oil pan, it was a 1969302 I put in a 78 mustang II.
I looked for a cobra II oil pan but no luck.
