Scrapping noise

Let me give you the background on this current problem with my baby beforre I get to the actual problem. I drove my '67 to Reno for Hot August Nights and during the trip back to California, my brakes went all to hell. One of the hold down springs broke and my rear brakes suffered as I drove home. Now I did notice the lack of brakes and off and on bad noises. A buddy and me spent the whole next day fixing the damage my baby had suffered (broken hold down spings, bent brake shoe, mangled adjuster lever, mangled wheel cylinder, mangled adjuster, etc). Everything is good and fixed now, but I have one problem... Sometimes when I'm turning I will here a scrapping noise comming from my rear driverside wheel. I checked the drum, the brakes, the rim, etc. I cannot find the source of this phantom noise. I would be ever so greatful if you guys could help me out.

Wheel bearing?

Could be the wheel bearing. Is that the wheel where the brake problem was? All that heat could have damaged the bearing. At least, that's my guess.

Yeah it was the drum with all the problems, but I don't think it was the bearings, since the noise only happens when i make a turn with the car.

Turning puts a different stress on the bearing than going straight, so it could be indicating early signs of failure.

Have you pulled the wheel off since the repair? I would and take a good look again especially for some rub marks or something that looks abnormal.
