Default Select Aire A/C

Does anyone know if the Select Aire A/C system from a 1963 Galaxie could be swapped into a 65 Mustang with a 289? I'm not sure of the exact size of the engine in the Galaxie, I just know it's some small-block V-8. And...was "Select Aire" the same air conditioning that they put in the Mustangs, or was this a dealer installed option that came later on? Any help would be appreciated.

For under dash units, I don't think there is any functional difference except for the lenght of the hoses.
