Serpentine belts for a 68???
Does anyone know of a serpentine belt system that will fit my 68' 302?? I have looked everywhere i can think of and havent found any information. I was told that a system for the fox-302 will bolt right on. Any confirmation on that?? Im guessing id run into clearance probs...I found a good website at www.marchperf.com but again no information for my car. any help is again appreciated......mac

I can't confirm for sure but I would think you would want the alternator, bracket and idler arm, WP pulley, Crank Pulley, and power-steering pump and bracket.
It should bolt up. You could also buy underdrives, alt. and bracket, ps-pump and bracket. You might be able to switch pulleys on the alt. that U have. Also you could up-grade to a 130a alt. off 95-up stang. I'm pretty sure U will need ps. pump though. I did this conversion on my 76 motor but I have manual steering, so ps pump wasn't a concern. Hopefully someone has done this and can confirm but I just thought I would respond with what I know. ------------------ 82 Mercury Capri 302. Comp. Cams Tremec 3550 3.73's 12.8@106 N/AKevin's Capri |
