Default shifting problems...

in my dads 70 mach1, when we r down shiftin it either tries or does pop out of second gear. he adjusted the syncro's b4 we got it out this year, and that caused 3rd to mess up some, and now it is 2nd messin up again and third is fine....any clues to what is wrong? would it just be the whole tranny?

thanks

If the shifter is adjusted correctly. It has to be internal.

Usually the syncro needs to be replaced. I would also check the shifting forks closely too.
