Let me say there are cheaper but more risky repair alternatives. As you've experienced, used boxes are available because they have the same problems you now have. Do not buy any box sight unseen and if you can detect any slop in the box, reject it. Repair alternatives are not inexpensive and unless you're a machinist not worth messing with. Better and safer to buy a new one. Save your precious $ and potentially more.
