The final overdrive ratio in the Richmond is similar to the final overdrive ratio in the T-56, the only difference is that the Richmond has 5 actual gears to use keeping the ratios closer. The T-56 has final overdrive options of .62, or .50. The Richmond has .76, .62, .50, and some other custom order ones. With my .76 6th, 245/45-17 tires, & 3.5 rear I run 86@3000 RPM & 101@3500 RPM, but keep in mind I don't have to run a real low rear gear because I have a 3.28 1st gear ratio
As to where an engine likes to live, that will depend on your cam & engine specs
