A 650 cm Demon will usually out flow a 650 Holley no problem, in fact you may wish to go even bigger. It is all about getting the air and fuel into the engine in the right ratio, carb size is often way under/over rated. I have seen a Holley 1050 Dominator work just fine on a 317 cid small block Ford. If you can get the air bleed ,jets, power valve, squirter, ect set up right you can often put on a larger carb than one would think and make great H.P. #'s. Call Barry Grant and ask. Give as much specifics as possible and they will get you set up right. Do not play a guessing game when it comes to carb size, do your homework and you will be much happier with the end result. I have used 750 cfm carbs on street 302's for years, we run a 850 Race Demon (flows about 925 cfm) on a 347 cid drag race engine. If you have a 429 you may be able to go much bigger without any problems. But if it is a real mild engine and you won't go over 5,000 rpm, then a 650 may be just right.
