Default Re: 1967 Mustang Fastback Acid Dipping?

Chemical dipping strips the car inside and out, very difficult to rinse completely. I stripped mine with chemical stripper on the outside, but I wouldnt want to strip it inside and out.

Another alternative is media blasting, some use baking soda, some use plastic media, but it doesnt eat metal.

I just prefer to do my own work, I guess I'm cheap. I used Tal-Strip and a floor scraper with a 4" blade. It cut through all 4 repaints down to the original paint in one coating, but took 2 more to remove the original paint and primer. I finished with steel wool and laquer thinner to clean and neutralize it.
