Thanks for the info. The reason I was even looking at different engines was because when we pulled mine, the freeze plugs are all pushed out and it looks like there may be a crack in the back of the block. We will have to wait untill its cleaned to know for sure but I think I might be in a little more trouble than I had thought. I'm trying to find a 289 block to drop back in it but my friend was going to give me the 302 cheaper than I can find any 289s right now. If anyone has a 289 block or knows someone whos looking to sell one please let me know. I'm in ohio so anything within a days drive would be great.
