Dark Horse, have you checked the ball joints? How about the shocks? If it's handling badly as well, then it has to be in the steering linkage or in the suspension. Does anything just need grease? Push up and down on the front end of the car with it parked. Does this make it squeak? If not, it has to be in the steering mechanism (includes ball joints). You should be able to trace this down with a little elbow grease. Hope this helps a little.
