I have a 65 mustang with pony interior and the full woodrain console. The shifter (C-4 auto) has seen better days and is begining to lose its chrome. I would like to replace it with an aftermarket one (hurst or b&m) but am not sure I can rig one up to fit the console without looking too hideous. Do you know of anyone who has done this successfully? I'm thinking that the "Mustang console hammer" might do the trick but I know it won't be an exact fit. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
