Default just woundring

hello every one-

I have A 66 mustang with A inline 6. now I want to convert it over to A v8. I am not going to be doing it any time soon cause it needs other work like the front end is smashed up and the interior needs to be replaced. and some suspension work. but what I want to know is what is every thing I have to do to convert it over to A v8 and about how much will it cost besides the engine. don't get me wrong I am going to be going all out. and the price is not an issue but I just want to know how much it will cost besides the engine cause I have not desided on what size engine yet. morethen likely it will end up being A 289 or 302 with two 4's or three 2's on it. any ways I really want to know before I do the suspension work. so I don't do it then have to change it. so what is every thing I have to do and how much.

thanks

Major changes are in order. No matter how you cut it a new 8 cyl. front end is in order as well as a new rear axle.. It depends somewhat on what you intend your car to be as to what you get..

I wanted my car to corner as well as go fast in a straight line, so iI ordered my front and rear suspension from Mustangs Plus. Get heir cat alogue, it's worth the trouble.

You'll want some kind of front disk brakes for your new V-8 powered car. You can do a Granada conversion as I did from Jim's Mustang in El Cajon, Ca., or go for more expensive after market conversions.

You will need a new rear axle, a limited slip, if you expect any real performance. There's no better place to get that than Ray Currie in Ca. An 8" is good to 300 HP, after that get a 9" . They make almost anything you could want, and it will always be top notch.

Don't get 2 4's or 3 2's unless you just want looks. A single 4-barrel in the right configuration will give you all the performance you could ask for and more for less $$$.

Hope this helps a little.

I am shooting for 350 horeses. so I will go with the 9" rear end. but wich would give me more performance LSD or full lockers.

and is that all I need to do. I know that is some major changes but I thought there would be alot of litle things as well.

thanks
