Default 289-289h.p question

hello-


I am picking up A 289 engine tomorrow and would like tok now how to tell wich one it is. like how do you know if it is the normall 289.or if it is the 289 high performance.

check the heads. hipos use screw in studs guide plates
also the main caps have more meat. but im far from being
an expert. solid lifters.

well I am not sure what you mean by screw in guid plates but I will look any ways just to see if I can see something different.


also I might be getting A trans for the engine. it's up in the air. I am going to look at it when I get there. so any thing I should look for on that to give me some indacation if it is still good or not.
