![]() ok I put air shocks in the back just to raise the back from dragging(I would bottom out on every bump) until I could afford a new suspension. I went over the speed bump and the right rear shock broke through and now is shock is sitting on the shock cover. Is there anyway I can fix this or am I going to have to get a whole new floor pan. My buddy just took his hitch off his truck and the side pieces that has thick steel that I could cut out 4x4 in pieces of steel to weld there but will that work. I need to fix this before I get the suspension in the winter.

![]() I hope all the members that sware by air shocks are reading this post.
I have seen this way too many times. The air shock punches through the floor. That's why I don't recomend them to anyone. By all means fix it. Bang it out and weld a reinforment plate there to strengthen it. Bet you learned something though.

![]() yup, when i got my car in 79 the previous owner had skyjackers on it just long enough to form a small crack around the shock mount on the right rear (which i fixed a long time ago) if your gonna put air shocks on the back of your car save your money and just replace the shocks with a solid bar....lol , because thats really what youve done, because when you have those babys aired up its like they are solid from the diff to the body...not to mention the safety aspect.....yea put air shocks on you tow vehicle not your classic car...
