![]() I have a 72 Coupe and i was wondering what the fuel air mixture screws should be set at. The screws are at 2 complete turns right now.

![]() How is it idling there??? 1 1/2 to 2 turns out is a good starting point.
If you have a vacumn gauge or hand held tach. Hook it up. Get the idle around 600 or so with the idle speed screw [on the linkage of carb]. Then starting with one of the screws slowly turn it in watching the vacumn [I prefer the vacumn gauge]or tach. If it needle moves up continue till is goes down. Then stop and do the same to other adjuster. Then check idle rpm and go back to first to trim it just alittle more. If you haven't the gauges do it by feel and sound. Take your time, not as hard as it sounds. |

![]() Ive always run them in until it runs rough. (One at a time.)
Then back it out until the motor smooths out. Then 1/2 turn more out. |
